Joseph Patrick Discepola, Esquire, has been zealously advocating for victims of catastrophic injury and wrongful death in Florida since graduating with honors from the University of Miami in 2009 with a joint degree in law and business administration (JD/MBA). Each client’s case is unique to the client and his or her family, and therefore Joseph works tirelessly to provide each client with individualized attention and the highest level of service, focus, energy, and passion. In every case, Joseph endeavors to do what is best for his clients and maximize their recovery. Over the course of his career, Joseph has been able to effectively prosecute high-profile personal injury and wrongful death cases and successfully obtain multi-million dollar results for his clients. Joseph’s areas of practice include personal injury and wrongful death cases arising out of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical negligence, nursing home negligence, negligent security, products liability, pharmaceutical liability, and maritime incidents.


Joseph was born and raised in Ocean Township, New Jersey, and graduated from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and CPA Accounting. Joseph worked as a foreign exchange controller at Goldman Sachs in Manhattan after graduation and prior to deciding to enroll in the JD/MBA program at the University of Miami. During his graduate studies, Joseph obtained a variety of legal experience. He received a public interest fellowship and represented foster children through the University of Miami’s Children & Youth Law Clinic, and then clerked for Judge Hogan-Scola for a semester to gain valuable insight into the criminal justice system. Joseph interned in the tax department at Burger King Corporation for a summer and then at a multi-practice firm in New Jersey the following summer. Joseph was also part of the Street Law Clinic where he taught different topics in law at Coral Reef High School in Miami. Throughout the last two years of graduate school, clerked for a personal injury law firm in Fort Lauderdale, where he developed his passion for representing the injured. Joseph began his career there after graduating and has been representing the injured ever since. Joseph gained valuable experience at a few different high profile personal injury firms in South Florida before opening his own practice.


Joseph has competed in a variety of sports throughout his life: Football, Rugby, Australian Rules Football, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, Track and Field, Swimming, Golf, Tennis, and Volleyball. Suffice it to say, Joseph knows what it takes to win. Playing contact sports does present the risk of serious injury, and Joseph is no exception. Throughout the years, Joseph has suffered several sports injuries, which gives him the unique perspective and ability to empathize with his clients during their personal injury recovery process.
